Graphics card error computer freezes for seconds
August 19th, 2013
can anyone help.
im using gtx560 ti and its factory overclocked.
whats the temps on the card ?
if there quite high tried cleaning it ?
its at 30*c i think its a software fault with nvidia, and i just got the error for the third time.
looks like your motherboard temp is high
PCH (Platform Controller Hub) Thermal Sensor Temperature Range
The following sentence is added at the end of the first paragraph of section 5.21.1:
The normal readable temperature range of the PCH thermal sensor is from
53 °C-134 °C. Note that some parts can read down to 43 °C but this is part to part
dependent.

your case have good cooling fans ?
Your Motherboard temperature is quite high. Did you tried checking the temps with CPUID for more accurate results?
neh its not because of motherboard temp.check your gpu temp again.check your power supply.maybe to many item you are having.

here is the temperatures again
i also got the error again, a few hours ago after which i played bf3 on high settings for several rounds and no errors came.
Hey Nadir. You should try completely removing your current NVidia driver set and reinstalling an older, more stable version. That’s likely all it is. Use Driver Sweeper to completely remove the old ones, restart and install something in the 270’s. I have the exact same card and I have been running stable on version 275.33 for several months now. Good luck.
Had the same problem with my ati card.
I almost went crazy, tried almost everything.
From using driver sweeper, to using microsoft fix it center and updating and downgrading the drivers, nothing.
I got to a point where I changed some settings in the registry, still noting.
The solution for me was..cleaning the dust of the video card.
If you tried Driver Sweeper, try Microsoft Fix It Center and if this will fail you, clean your computer from dust.
Good luck mate.

i dont see why nvidia will release something thats not stable, also i dont see where i can find an older version of the driver i recently installed my new graphics card and that was the one on the site which i installed, current version (285.62) so i cant do roll back drivers

microsoft fix it center says “The Beta test is now closed”
i’ve also cleaned out the dust and the graphics card is pretty new had just installed it about a month ago and the rest of the pc cleaned out all new mobo, ram, processor and liquid cooling all dusted out.
i wont be running Driver Sweeper as i dont have any drivers to revert onto, can only find the updated version.
right now i had another freeze.
Also above about my motherboard temperatures running at 60.c should i leave that as false reading or what, also i find out that i do not have 2 back panels on the back of my pc after the upgrade, would that have any serious affect on my pc ?
neh its not because of motherboard temp.
it’s out of range so it needs to come down
and ALL video card/PCIe communication passes thro that chip (PCH)
so excessive heat will cause errors
also i find out that i do not have 2 back panels on the back of my pc after the upgrade,
do they affect cooling performance (air flow) ?

i don’t think so, i think it draws in air for the power supply fan and the two fans for the graphics card.
heres the latest screenshot i just took and now the temperature it really high.
now im going to shutdown and check the temperature has reduced.

as soon as you boot after a cool down is it lower ?
on the bottom right of the pic (Z68 chipset pointer) is your “motherboard” (chipset) heatsink
is that very hot ?
is it loose ?
sorry for late response, i turned off the machine, disconnected the power and checked the chipset, it seemed cool and stable (not loose)
i took a few pictures as i am unsure it is getting sufficiently cooled because of my graphics card.
from above the chipset.
from below the graphics card.
can anyone else plz check if they are getting this error i have gotten it at least five times this week.
i myself sometimes will get the same error.and its really annoying.but sadly no clue whats causing it.the only way to eliminate this problem is to reformat windows.
oh ya try scanning your RAM.check whether got a lot of error or not.reply me ASAP.use memtest86 to scan.

i just went onto several forums and found that i had to change the settings on NVIDIA SETTINGS and change the setting from adaptive to preferred maximum performance, so far my computer has been running ok for about a day, hopefully i wont get the message again, you can try this setting change and see if it works for you.
EDIT: this has not helped i am still getting problems with my computer, it has frozen me whilst converting a batch of video files and has crash the video converter
this problem is getting highly annoying.
