[gpu]gtx 650ti or 750ti or 660

August 7th, 2016

I’m from India and on a strict budget. I know 660 has more performance but its the costliest amongst all (the 660ti is out of my budget priced ~17k INR)
here are the prices
Galaxy 750ti 2GB OC at ~10k
650ti: 9k INR for 1GB, 11k for 2GB
the cheapest 660 (zotac) at about 12k INR

my specs: i5 4570 (non-k), 8gigs of ram 1300mhz, 450W corsair PSU, msi h87 mobo
required for: fifa 15 (hopefully next 2 installments aswell) and some other casual gaming like AC3/4. No coding/photoshop/any graphic or software related work.
Max reslolution : 1920×1080.
The resolution is the main issue why i’m even considering the other two except the 660, as I won’t be plugging in to my 42inch bravia anytime soon.

The 750ti is better and less money than the 650ti 2GB and is a lot easier on your PSU than the 650ti or the 660. The Corsair 450W should easily take care of the 750ti.
Answer #2
the difference between 750ti and 660 is hardly 2000INR, but i saw some benchmarks and 660 had better performance. Can’t understand this as 7 series came out later
Answer #3
The order would be 650ti<750ti<660<760. The 660 and 760 are about the same price and the 760 performs a little better but uses less power. A Zotac 760 is 11700 INR using a currency converter from US dollars.

Break the numbers down and you’ll understand:
6-60
7-50
Generation – level in that generation
So a 660 is one generation behind a 750 BUT is higher spec in it’s own generation.
It’s generally held that a tiny “level” change is equal to one generation change.
So a 660 would be ROUGHLY the same as a 750. (the 660 will be a bit better – but enough to justfy and price increase? Who knows?)
But a 650 would be worse than a 750 (the generation change make it better even thought the “level” is the same).
A common idea is that you have to jump TWO numbers – generations or levels – to actually SEE a gain in performance (“see” as opposed to benchmarks).
So – go from a 570 to a 770, go from a 520 to a 570, go from a 640 to a 770 (the generation AND level change = more than 2).

Out of all of those, I’d probably go for the “Galaxy 750ti 2GB OC”.
Make SURE you power supply is up to it – it’s only 450W, if it’s a cheap no-name brand then it’s really about 300W.

If you can save up for a 970 you’ll pay the difference in electricity eventually.
