Good way to keep notes on desktop

i need a good way to keep notes on my desktop. i dont have the sidebar gadget (wish i did) so im looking for some kind of program that does it

NoteZilla is a sticky notes program that you might find useful.
I uploaded it a long time ago, there should be newer versions available but I guarantee this one is not infected. It is not even in my RS account any more as it closed so it’s surprising that it is still available.

stickies is the best one i’ve found. small, portable, and lots of options, including alarms, recurring notes, and more. you can even associate stickies with particular apps or websites so they only show up when the app is open.
