Good PC to watch movies..

August 6th, 2016

Lately I’ve been watching some HD movies and documentaries, but something they’re kinda.. blocky, or slow. I of course think it has something to do with my PC, and I’m wondering what I can do to upgrade my PC.
My specs :
Acer Aspire M1641
CPU : Intel Pentium Dual Core E2220
4 GB DDR II RAM
320 gb HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 7050 up to 1024 MB
So can anyone help me? I want to be able to watch the HD stuff without the blocks and stuff.

Answer #1
Just get a better graphics card which supports HD Decoding (Nvidia 8 Series and up), and you should be good to go.
Answer #2
Okay, will I as a not very technical person be able to replace my current graphics card with the new one?
Answer #3
Yes, you should be, it just involves removal of the existing graphics card and seating a new one. Theres no reason why you shouldnt be able to
Answer #4
Okay, thanks I’ll start looking for one then!
Answer #5
The graphics card will only handle HD playback in certain apps. Most cases it will not be used atall for your movies. Proper HD playback required some high end parts.
Answer #6
Certain apps? I play them in VLC media player, if thats what you mean?
But in that case, I can’t really easily make it better?

well always good to have “good ” hardware. But the right codecs also helps alot. (all depending on what kinda HD it is. If its in the low-end something like k-lite might improve it maybe a little bit.

I think that Intel Core2Duo is the minimum for HD videos, isnt it?
The next thing I have found is, that it also depends on software video player.
I dont have very good experience with VLC and HDs videos. I like GOM Player the best
Try GOM first, then tell us if it helps a little
