fruity loops

so…im just wondering how to assign a channel..its own channel or something….because i want to mess with the reverb
this is what my tut tells me to do
Assign the sound to its own channel, and add a reverb and compressor.

Click on an instrument in step sequencer. In the “channel settings” box – upper right you have a little display with “FX” written under. This is the no. of the mixer channel that instrument is playing through. Open the mixer, go to the track you’re interested in (Insert 1,2…). To the right you have 8 tabs you can insert effects to.
