Try Avira is the best out of the freewares and combined with comodo firewall and superantispyware you are ready
Avira or Avast
You can try AVG anti-virus along with Comodo firewall – both of them are free as well as good. You can also try Spybot – search and destroy with peer guardian 2.

AVG is lame, spy bot is lamer. NOD32 FTW even though it’s on free. Just get a crack once and you won’t have to do it again.
Anti-Virus
Avira
Avast AVG
Firewalls:
Comodo
ZoneAlarm
Ashampoo
try avira bud..
Anti-Virus
Avira
Avast AVG
Firewalls:
Comodo
ZoneAlarm
Ashampoo
these are free anti viruses as well as firewall..
but i suggest u go for Avira, it has a very high detection rate and very light on system..
and if u want firewall too, u may choose Comodo..
I use Avira + Comodo in some of my low end systems , and I’m very satisfied with both protection and performance.
Avira is horrible bro. Most of the people that came to me to fix their comp was because of them having avira. I would recommend AVG or download zone alarm extreme from here.

FYI:There is no better freeware than AVG, maybe Avira but as far as i know AVG is good – Also i used to go with NOD32 till it gave me a virus, i downloaded a file which contained a virus, and i usually don’t scan unless its a .rar file, so i got a virus, but Kaspersky blocks it and thats why i believe kaspersky is better.
ESET – 30 day trial
i am really happy with this now
will get another key later
AVG is too much of a resource hog since version 8. I’ve tried both Avast and Avira. Both are extremely good, and I would recommend both. I have stuck with Avira because I’ve found it’s easier to use. I can’t see the point in paying or cracking any AV out there when there are legitimate free ones, Avira has not let me down yet, and there’s no system slowdown at all (which I found with Avast).
Try them both and see which one suits you better. In the end it’s all about your personal preference.
The best free AV is probably BitDefender free edition. But it should be remembered that most free AV programs don`t have real time monitoring of Internet traffic and executed files. They are simply on demand file scanners.

AVG, Avira and Avast all have real-time scanning. Ok, I will say that Avira does not scan files as you download them, but as soon as you try to access any files that you have downloaded it will. For example, I recently downloaded a program from this very website, and the keygen contained a trojan. This was not picked up on download, but as soon as I tried unzippping the RAR file Avira jumped into life and asked what I would like to do (ignore, quarantine, delete, etc.).
As far as I am aware (and it was the case in previous versions) AVG does include a full real time scanner of all internet traffic, executed files and also includes an email scanner.
I have used Avira a long time, it’s really good and recommend it to others. Go for Avira/AntiVir. Good stuff, fast, good, precise and doesn’t create big cpu load. (y)
A combination of these tools should serve you well. One thing to keep in mind though: even with the best antivirus installed, you should always be cautious about what you click on or open. If you go around clicking and opening just about anything you will still get infected. Avira AntiVir Personal – FREE Antivirus

SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition – Doesn’t provide realtime protection though

Comodo Firewall

try avast m8
And only one thing to add: no amount of protection, be it firewall, anti-virus or anti-spyware comes close to the ultimate protection: common sense. To echo above, just be careful on what you open and run and you will vastly reduce your chance of getting infection.
Try QuickHeal
on the free ones Avira takes my vote along with comodo for firewall But give Nod a try they keys work for some time and if it stops just go to this site and grab a new one. No downloads, no hacks, no nothing

for the keys
I know you wanted a free antivirus. But what if I tell you, that you can get a free registered version of the newest ESET NOD32 for a minimum of effort? (Okay, that sounded scamlike.. Sorry)
But if you follow this link:
http://nsanedown.com/?request=140184
and then download the newest version of nodlogin. Just leave it alone for nowNow you check this link:
http://www.eset.com/download/free_trial_download_int.php
and download the newest trial of ESET NOD32 (Just make sure you pick the Antivirus and not Smart Security)Now install the downloaded ESET NOD32
After that’s done, you go into your nodlogin .rar file, find the xY that corresponds to the Y you download from ESET. Example if you chose 64 bit, the pick x64 and install it.
Now: Check the image included to how to exclude the nodlogin
You can also activate advanced setup mode and schedule the running of Nodlogin everytime it updates. Just tell me if you want this info, else I wont bother
Disclaimer: Nodlogin is an online database containing keys for Nod32, it’s updated regularly. When executed it finds a key online, extracts it and implements it in NOD32. And it’s ready to upgrade to full.
Don’t use NOD32 alone. Use Avira + Comodo + Malwarebytes.

Indeeds. Avira + Comodo + SuperAntiSpyware + Malwarebytes = best combination of freeware security.
Use some virtual machines to open cracks, use VirtualBox to create a virtual OS where you can use Ubuntu. Both of those are freeware and should add some more protection at protecting you.
