Forgot Apple ID and password..

January 26th, 2020

Hi guys,
Someone i know asked for my help due to that his little son forgot his password for his ipad and even his apple id so he can t login and the ipad is useless! Now.. they went to the store where they bought it but the problem is they don t delivery note anymore and they even couldn t find it in the system so it s a problem!
What the guy in the store did is a restore but as soon as they came home and try to login and stuff it didn t worked again.
Now is it possible to do a complete recovery?? Sorry i m completely not experienced with apple stuff that s why i ask here.
Thank you,

You can restore the iPad to factory settings, but you need the Apple ID and password. Sorry for the bad news lol

You’ve got a brick, unless you can PROVE it’s actually yours.
If you restore it and it’s got icloud/find my iphone/ipad on. You’re knackered.
I’ve heard it a million times; I forgot my Apple ID and someone reset my iPad/iPhone, NO, you’ve got a stolen device.
Not say this is the same but you get my drift…

No man really!! It’s not a stolen device! The little son of a friend messed with it and now it’s uselless! The worse is they even don’t have the buying ticket no more! So i guess they are ‘knackered’… ???

Well, something isn’t adding up. To restore, you must confirm, to turn find my iPad/iPhone off/on, you need to enter a password.
I think your friend is lying, fact is the “kid” never done it and he’s probably bought a stolen device.
Like said, if Apple can’t help you, NO ONE CAN.

Idk how the guy in the store made a restore. But it’s ok.. i’ll tell him that i can’t help him and that nobody can if apple can’t, right??
I just thought, the fact that i can crack a password and reinstall new windows on a windows laptop that maybe i could find a way for an apple too but these guys are way more ‘secured’?? ☺☺

If you go to the Apple ID website, there’s a part that lets you recover it by entering the user name, email, and so on.
Answer #8
Without the Apple ID & password the device is pretty much useless…
You could always wait for another iOS exploit, which rarely happens anymore
I remember back in 2010 there was an exploit that allowed you to factory restore the device without signing in
Answer #9
Guys, fighters, playboys… but what if i do a restore and then he makes a fresh gmail/email and login?? Isn’t that possible? Isn’t that a solution?
Answer #10
You can’t factory restore the device without the password so it doesn’t really matter.

Ok guys thank you for all the info! Now i know enough! In short terms.. he’s ‘knackered’??
Btw: these kind of reasons are the ones i don’t want ANY apple device! Long live windows and android!!! LONG LIVE FREEDOM!!!
Answer #13
Long live freedom? it’s called high security.
Answer #14
There is a reason why Apple has the highest sales every quarter, compared to… the entire world lol
