For those who are experienced with editing video files…

I would like to edit all of my widescreen movies and convert them to entire screen (16:9) aspect ratio video files. I don’t care whatsoever if I lose video from the left and right of the screen. I really like how movies that have been TV edited to fit the entire screen looks. The options on my TV won’t stretch the image to fill the whole screen either. Just wondering if the people who know how to do this will give me some input and what editing software they use. Thanks a bunch!
