Firefox not loading pages

recently firefox will sometimes take forever to load a page, or I might have to click to reload it 4 or 5 times before a page will load.. its not just one page. it does this everywhere such as email or warez-bb or even just a google search. I have tried ie and that works fast with no problems. but for years now i have been using firefox and don’t want to change browsers. to fix this i have even formatted my computer and firefox seemed to be running great, but then about 3 days later it is back to it’s old tricks. please help. and thanks to who ever helps me out.

I had this problem when i updated to firefox 8. What I did was uninstall the whole program, ran ccleaner, then installed firefox 9 beta. Seems to be working fine now.

I’ve just started running into problems with FF 8. I experience what you’re experiencing sometimes too but it doesn’t happen that often. I’m having problems opening a new tab. Whether it’s just clicking the new tab button or middle clicking a link, it locks up (not responding) FF, video freezes (but sound still plays) and takes about 5 seconds before it starts responding again. This just started happening today and I had FF 8 since the day it came out so I will have to see if it continues after a restart. Right now, I’m using Chrome till I restart.
You could try downloading a previous version of FF to see if that solves your problem. Also, try cleaning your history, cookies, cache, etc. with CCleaner.

tried what xA7XFanx recomended didnt work. so i downloaded firefox Aurora. WOW!!!!SUPER FAST!!! LOVE IT. fastest firefox ever. had never heard of Aurora until today. hopefully it stays this fast. i will keep updating
update: aurora is faster but pages still hang randomly. usually when selecting a website from a google search. this is very annoying.

Yeah around FF 8 I gave up with them..They made it worse and then they made 9 beta..they update way too much and the stock program is way too bloated with its loading times and constant updates every start. I went back to using Iron. Faster load times / boot times more stable and updates on its own time.
