Files disappearing

August 4th, 2016

Hi everyone, i have a big trouble with my laptop, i usually just close it and it goes to hibernate, (lazy to shut down). as usual it just goes from hibernation to power up and everything is fine, yesterday as i was expecting it to wake fro hibernation it started up from the beginning as if i restarted it. and when i go to desktop all the files are missing, i tried to system restore but it didn’t work, i have no clue what to do. Only the files from the desktop have disappeared, my downloads and stored files in local disc D have not. waht should i do *Note i am using a HP probook 6470b. And Windows 7 Enterprise. Every bit of help will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance
Answer #1
is it set to auto start a desktop cleanup through Task Scheduler?
Answer #2
Did your System Restore fail or just fail to bring back the files? If System Restore fails from within Windows, I usually try it from safe mode next.

it restored successfully but it didn’t restore the files.
Answer #4
did it log on to your account and not default user or some other account? reason, who knows, pc’s are funny that way you know.
if you restored the files of another account you would still be missing files. did you search the partition for a particular file you know is missing and try to pin point it?
failing all the above, before you do a lot of file hard drive writing to: Kernel for Windows Data Recovery.
