It’s probably gone bad. You can check it with hdtune pro, Or have a look on event viewer, Look for errors.

Pretty much like I thought. If it’s still under warranty, Use it!
Otherwise, Your just gonna have to buy a new one.

I think the HDD is still in warranty, I’ll contact Verbatim
Also the HDD only been used a few times and mainly is use to store Wii ISO games to be play on the Wii, so don’t know how it has gone bad but it did, when I receive it back from Verbatim, what should I do to keep the HDD healthy and not go bad again?
Answer #8
Nothing (well, except for doing your best not to drop it of course)
Any HDD can go bad at any time, So it’s basically a matter of luck.
However, Just because an HDD is new it doesn’t guarantee it’s in good condition, So you should
always check it with hdtune. It’s possible that it was bad from the start, But you didn’t
notice it til it worsened.
Answer #9
Disks are like the lottery… A brand new one once died after a month, and I still have one that’s 3 years old and working perfectly.

The HDD is still under warranty and Verbatim is happily to RMA it for me, but I’ve Wii and PC ISO files stored in the HDD
Answer #11
No need to worry, You’ll be fine.
Answer #12
Search DLC under Apps here on the forum, and burn to DVD.
Boot to the small XP operating system on the disk, and launch applications from the menu provided under the XP environment.
There should be something on the disk that will help.
Answer #13
You might be able to get your files by booting from Active Boot Disk WinPE. Make sure you connect the external HD to your PC first. After you boot into it, you’ll be in a GUI like Windows. Go to Explore My Computer and if the drive is visible (hopefully) then all you have to do is copy the files to your computer’s internal hard drive. If the external drive is not visible, the only other option I can think of is to do a CHKDSK. Right click the drive in My Computer and select the tools tab and click on the error checking button.
