Crossfiring a HD 7870 with a R9 270x
January 20th, 2020
I have never paired up two two cards from totally different series before, but cross fire has been enabled in my catalyst control center when I installed the R9 270x an my FurMark graphic stress tester program is listing CFX as enabled.
So I guess all is well.
I have a question about catalyst control center thou regarding over clocking..
When I have both cards crossfire enabled is it recommended that I overclock both my cards to the same speeds, or just my primary card (R9 270x) an leave my secondary card at regular settings?
As illustrated above.
An how do the power settings apply?
In the future, could I pair my card with another R9 280, 290 for crossfiring?
Lastly… Which is the higher card, the R9 270 or the R9 270x?

Thanx I actually read throught that page awhile ago which go me to grab the 270x for my 7870
I have a side question: Another question: I was actually going to but a MSI Radeon R9 270X GAMING 4GB 256-bit GDDR5
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127775
But decided to go with the SAPPHIRE 100364L Radeon R9 270X 2GB
being that R9 270X 2GB card was comparable in terms of GB to my my SAPPHIRE 100354OC-2L Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB
Should I have brought the MSI Radeon R9 270X GAMING 4GB 256-bit GDDR5
, it does have 4GB of DDR5, I just did not know wheather it would perform well or not crossfired with a 2GB card, an weather that 4GB would have made a difference while crossfired?
So that’s why I just got the R9 270x @2GB cause my 7870 was @2GB
