Create a server

July 31st, 2013

Hi guys since you all have helped me so much here its like you all are family!
ok so here’s the thing
we work are a semi-large company and we want to create a server. And means only the server and we want 4 nodes connecting to it. The four nodes will perform medium functions like writing documents, pdf, opening of DWG drawings etc. but no editing. And the main will be done all in the cloud i.e. uploading of files etc.
So for the above scenario what type of a server will we require accordingly means if you can give specs it will be great. Also we have an existing PC with Corei3 2.6Ghz processor and 2GB ram. So can it work as a server with four nodes in context with processing power.
Kindly guide me through this as you all have guided me through all other requests as this is very important to me.
Thanks and awaiting replies.

“semi-large”, if that was the case, you would have an IT guy, he is the person to do this…

“leave it on google” Why would we explain something, that is (as I already said) VERY well detailed and documented many different times on the internet?
Your basically asking us to Google it for you, and paste the info here? Lazy!

Linux is free, and IMO better for servers, unless you require M$. If that is the case, use Windows Server 2003 R2.
