in chrome I just have my most used bookmarks as icons in the bookmarks toolbar

well then your too lazy, just bookmark it.

Just click the Bookmarks button —> Bookmark This Page —> Click Drop-Down menu and select Bookmarks Toolbar —> Rename if you want —> Done
May have to enable the toolbar by right clicking directly above the Seach bar and clicking Bookmarks Toolbar.
does that make icons? i dont think so.
drag and drop the tab opened to toolbar (usually under address bar), if the page is fully loaded, it’ll use the icon that’s in the address bar.
