Corrupted hard drive cant be accessed.
July 23rd, 2013
With your help, I’ve just done a nice job putting multiple OS’s on my netbook, and don’t worry, thats safe.!
My desktop PC is next!
I was trying to clean up the partitions, and turned it off while it was working…DUH! corrupting the drive.
It cant be accessed at all now, either in linux, or windows.
Is there any software that can get me inside the drive, so I can retrieve a few files before I format?
I have most of my stuff backed up anyway.. but there are a few things I hadn’t backed up yet.. personal videos etc.
As always, Thanks
Update:
I found the programme ‘GetDataBack’
I think its picked my disc up and managed to open it.
Now I will leave it scanning and hope for the best…

Hope you learned from from your mistake. Also, Doing any kind of partitioning operations without backup
is never a good idea.

This would only be effective on a windows (NTFS) partition, If a Linux partition was affected too, You’d need
to use UFS Explorer. Needless to say, Recovering the data to another HDD is essential.
Luckily the GetDataBack software managed to just get back for me what I wanted.
As I say, I had most of my stuff backed up.
But there were a few things I was working on lately – Videos etc, that I hadnt yet backed up.
Glad I didnt loose them.
Thanks
