Clone main hard drive

Can I put in a much larger HD and clone my entire C drive to it and then change my boot sequence to boot form that drive and use the original C drive as a second storage drive , will everything work just the same .
Windows 7 ultimate is OS ,,,, the reason is I dont want to reinstall and have to set up all my programs again .

You can make a live boot CD of a Linux distro named Clonezilla (http://clonezilla.org/). With Clonezilla you can make an image of your hard drive and place it on another hard drive. Have both hard drives in your computer and make sure your new one is formatted. Once you have installed the image on your new hard drive you can clear your old drive and you should be able to just boot from the new one. But before you clear the old one take it out and make sure you are able to boot from the new one.

Yes..You can do that and everything will work just the same as before..

Yup – use Acronis True Image Home (best IMHO)

I used Clonezilla for upgrading a SSD to a larger SSD, worked beautifully.
