Hi there,
I want to play my 9gb HD 1080p files on my ps3
ps3 only accepts FAT32 external HD’s, which have a cap of 4gb file sizes
so i thought i’d just split it into 3 files
but after FOUR HOURS of googling and downloading all kinds of stuff, I still can’t do it!
Im on a Mac and don’t have Windows access (thankfully )
Any help would be much appreciated!

what about importing them to imove cutting them and then exporting them? backup the mpeg before you try this

There is nothing on the mac where you can select a movie file, and have it auto cut it up in to 2-3 pieces

What do you mean auto cut? i havent used a mac in a while but i edit on a pc. you would have to import the mpg and then cut it and export it. It wont edit itself

and copy the selected time in video cmd+i (frame in) cmd+o (frame out)
create another window in Quicktime and paste the selected time of the video you selected, it should take only the part you`ve selected before…
Simple like this… i think so…

sorry, i was wrong when i`ve said that the keys to frame in and frame out was cmd+i and cmd+o.
just use the keyboard with the letters “i”and “o”… without the “cmd”… or slide the sliders located under timming control… set the first as frame in and the last as frame out…
copy the selected part “cmd+c”, creat a new window “cmd+n” and paste the part you`ve selected “cmd+v”, and save this new file “cmd+s”
that`s it.

its weird, i did it but the output mpg is realllllllly poor quality?? trying to do it to HD 1080p, so dont want to lose the HDness ..

I think you have to use flip4mac HD PRO, not just the flip4mac…
Oher thing, QuickTime creat MOV files, not MPG..
You really open the file with quicktime or you transform the file before it?

Hi there, I did transform before it doing that. So I will try again on a new movie:
say for example i download this trilogy, in HD 720p. I want to watch it on my ps3 (in full HD 720p) so need 4gb files. How do i do it? I open quicktime, cut it, save as, then use visualhub ‘go nuts’ convert to mpg?

Yes! Thats it.
You should first open and cut the file into new ones, then just after convert.
I do it here (right this moment) and everything goes ok!
It keeps the same size (splited sure!) and same resolution, without any loss…

its strange man
I open it in Quicktime (its divx avi). I cut it in half, then i am saving the first half now and it just saves as 323.7mb! The file was originally 4.4gb! Surely it should be at least 2.2gb… The quality is disappearing bigtime

At the moment you “save as” the new file, has 2 options below…
“Save as self-contained movie” is the right option!
It will keep the entire movie.
If you select “Save as reference movie” it wil downsize the video quality…

vista disables the transparencies on full sized windows by default. I dont know if it can be changed, but im sure Windows 7 doesnt do that.

I have just joined here and got a preium account for rapidshare, but, when there are a number of links to download a file, do i have to copy and paste each link 1 by 1 to download the file or is there some way of doing them all in 1 hit?

hi, i use internet download manger you can download from this site in APPS, just highlight all files right click and download with IDM

Yeah, it’s better to use a download manager. IDM is the best and most famous, but there are also other ones like flashget, downthemall, orbit downloader, jdownloader, etc…

I need help with the BIOS password on My dell Studio 1536 service tag GL22MH1?
When i turn on my laptop it gives me the message
This computer system, #GL22MH1-595B, is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access the data on this computer without the correct password.
I called dell and they said they may be able to help me fix it for 60$!!!!
I was wondering if anyone else might have any ideas.
I already removed the button battery for over 24 hrs and no luck. Dell also told me without the owner Inf they can’t help me i got this computer for my daughter in a paw shop please i will really appreciate any help God bless

Odd that Dell said that they could help for $60, because with newer Dell’s, the Phoenix, you can call Dell, give them the service tag, and they will give you a code to bypass it. I would bring that up. Or the more fun way such as using the paperclip method (use at your own risk)

When you turn on the host machine, enter the CMOS setup menu (usually you have to press F2, or DEL, or CTRL+ALT+S during the boot sequence) and go to STANDARD CMOS SETUP, and set the channel to which you have put the hard disk as TYPE=Auto, MODE=AUTO, then SAVE & EXIT SETUP. Now you have access to the hard disk.
Unfortunately a power on password is not related to the OS that is installed. I am sure there are plenty of methods I am unaware about that may help you, but I hope the information I provided helps.

Hi
Ive bin playing with the software forawhile now, and cant find anything about how to set the max simultaneous downloads at once setting..
i wanna make the program download 3 files at once at maximum and queue up the rest of the files i put to download and let those queued files only download once one of the first 3 downloads have finished so only 3 downloads are running simultaenously at once..
anyone know how to set this ?? i can only see some syncronization setting but i cant even get that to work :@!!
If anyone can help, it’d b great.

I dont use IDM but i know its similar to flashget, in flashget you go to tools –> options –> connection. and change it in there,

Once you have IDM open click on the Clock button. Then on the tab that says Files in queue. You set it where it say “Download X files at a time”

A friend was running a patched version of YTD and accidentally upgraded to a newer version. Of course, it was downgraded to Basic from Pro because it detected that the older version was patched.
She uninstalled the upgrade but now, when she tries to reinstall a previous version, she is told that she cannot install an older version.
Obviously, something has been placed on her system to prevent a previous install. Do any of you excellent people who know the inner workings of computers better than we do know what we need to do to fix this?

Do a System Restore to a time from before upgrade, then try re-installing the previous version again. Or, try uninstalling YTD using Iobit Uninstaller, which will also clear the offending registry entry that’s giving her that message, then re-install the old version.
