Can’t make my iphone into dfu mode

i followed it properly but can’t make it to work what’s the problem

if its not working, then you arnt doing it proprly
keep trying, it takes me at least 3 goes to get my ipod to do it

It is guaranteed to be human error.
Try using a watch to time how long you’re holding each of the buttons, make sure you aren’t pressing the wrong buttons.
Post the guide you’re following here and we can check if it’s correct.
Off the top of my head (i may be wrong); you hold the power and home buttons for 10 seconds then release power button (keep holding home) until it pops up in iTunes. Remember your iphone/ipod has to be connected to your pc!
I should probably look that up though

I had trouble too.. I actually started pushing the correct buttons before starting the installer for redsnow.. and then it figured it out.. I also once let go of all the buttons when the screen went blank and redsnow started connecting and it worked, it was only halfway through that final 30seconds.

what i usualy do, is hold the home and hold/lock/power button until it reboot, then if you look very carefuly you can see when the ipod turns the backlight on as it starts up (the screen goes from black to an ever so slightly lighter shade of black) and release the power button, keeping the home button held until itunes pops up (or redsn0w detects it)
