BSOD New RAM

August 5th, 2016

Just installed new ram and I get BSOD on boot up. I had to take it out to get to work. It says Driver IQL not less or equal on the BSOD
Answer #1
Probably the new ram cannot synchronize with the other ram on your mobo. Check their clock speeds with CPU-Z, they must be equal.(Using one ram at a time of course). If the new ram is the only one, perhaps it is faulty.
Answer #2
Could be faulty ram, or the slot, try another slot and also boot up the pc with the ram. If the BSOD occurs again, note down the error. Its in the form of 0x000000

If you are useing Vista x64 with more than 2gig of ram you will get that sort of message, there is a fix for it at the Microsoft web site.
If you are using a 32bit OS then I would suggest taking out all ram and then plug in each stick of new ram 1 at a time and see if the machine works ok, if the new ram works ok then I would mix 1 new stick with 1 old stick and see if it works.

dude wtf you on?You dont get a bsod with visatx64 if u have more then 2gb!Your prob sounds like undervolted ram or bad timings,i would go into your bios and check what volts they are running at then go to the manufacturers website and find what the recommend volts and timings are.
Oh and by the way what is you new ram and what is your old ram?
Answer #5
Details like mother board or pc model and memory purchase details might help get correct answers

You may want to do little bit of research before you make rash statements like your last one.
You CAN get BSOD’s with Vista 64 with more than 2 gig of ram, I have 3 Dell XPS 710’s and had the same problem on all of them.
Here is just a couple of links that prove my point, I can provide many more if you want.
