Blurays shot in 16mm are grainy and wont display in 1080p

August 7th, 2016

I posted earlier that 2 of my blurays wouldnt play in 1080p just 1080i.So i browsed the web a bit a found some info. That movies shot in 16mm are usually grainy and not as clear as when the movie is shot in 35mm.Also they wont display in 1080p.That explains why my bluray movies, dead mans shoes and this is england only play in 1080i 50hz.I also have the dark knight and batman begins which both play in 1080p 60hz.False advertisement if you ask me putting 1080p on the back of the case.
Answer #1
What are you using to play them?
Answer #2
My ps3.On the bluray menu it says 1080p when i press the imput button on the remote but when i press play it switches to 1080i.Ive fiddled with all the settings on ps3 and tv with no luck. Both movies are grainy, but the batmans are crystal clear
Answer #3
Must really be the movies themselves then.

Yes exactly,False advertisement putting 1080p on cases,Both movies are made by the same director and writer shane meadows.Brilliant films though.Unfortunately i cant watch them in the best quality. The dark knight was shot in 65mm.I dont really understand all this camera talk but i assume low budget movies would all be shot in 16mm and the bluray transfer wouldnt be as good as others.
