Audio equipment suggestions
February 25th, 2014
It’s kinda hard making suggestions without knowing where your from (currency, store in your country).
Also,Are you gonna be doing this with a laptop or a desktop and what are it’s specs?
Are you gonna be using any external instruments?
USA. I plan on shopping online. Working through a desktop with moderate specs and I’ll just be record voice.
If you want a cheap AIO kit,Go with this one:

Thank you Roberto! the cheaper one sounds awesome on it’s own! I’m definitely thinking about get that. Any other suggestion?
Glad you liked it,Anyways,I don’t have other suggestions in general,But a few recommendations if you go
with the AIO Kit,First just to clarify the concept “studio monitors”,These are special speakers or headphones
with transparent sound (that don’t emphasize any specific portion of the music or vocal unlike regular speakers/headphones)
and are essential for determining if the recording sounds good, bad or needs improvement (there are various VST effect plugin for
this btw),The Kit includes monitoring headphones,But ideally these should only be used while recording so you’ll hear the
music & vocal directly in your head,You really don’t wanna wear em for prolonged periods of time,Which is why you should get
those studio monitors ^ (Alesis),Oh and you’d need to get 2 of these cables for em too:

Forgot to mention it. Set that aside,I assume you’ll be working with samples to create the music,But you could open
a lot of doors for yourself if you’ll get a MIDI Keyboard ($170 minimum for a decent one),These are extremely useful
for working with VSTIs (Virtual Instruments) and there are plenty of em out there!
use a high quality studio mic(pretty cheap these days) then you need a AUDIO CARD for your pc like Xonar essence or better …mixers…there are a lot of them out there ( a lot of the mixing you’ll be able to do on ya pc so just get the newest model of a decent company like yamaha)
Now most important is the recording room You’ll need to custum build it yourself or contractor…but lets not forget that people like Lil John started whit bed mattresses

You clearly have no idea what your talking about,Studio mic’s (used for professional voice recording) are not cheap one bit
and cheap PC mic’s are only ideal for VOIP and nothing else,Asus sound cards are consumer grade and not suitable for
studio use.

Dude have you even HEARD of ESSENCE STX??EVER IN YA ***** LIFE?!
The editors liked
Studio-quality sound
Audio production fans will appreciate the low-latency ASIO 2.0 driver and 24-bit/192KHz sampling rates on all inputs and outputs. We were also pleased with the card's MIDI sound banks and GM2 filters that can be used in audio editing and live DJ software.http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/ASUS-Xonar-HDAV13-Slim-and-ASUS-Xonar-Essence-STX-Review

I LOL’d hard,You really don’t know what’s needed for audio production,It has no XLR input (Which is used
by studio mic’s),No TRS outputs for studio monitors (which are essential from reasons already specified^),No TRS inputs for external instruments and no midi input either.

If you click on the first result you’ll see it costs way more then said.
Studio mics are definitely very expensive and that’s a fact.

That package deal will work very well for what your needs are. There will be no need for a mixing board. Add a set of monitor speakers and you will be set. Anything more than that would be overkill at this time.
