Anyone here good with car audio deck replace?
August 4th, 2016
According to the wiring diagram http://www.metraonline.com/files/products/INST70-8113p.pdf
The purple and green rca cable is for the 2 rear speakers but where do I put them? [/code]
Swap the head unit over for one which has rear RCA outputs would the neatest way..
Or you can use a line output converter, like they mention,to convert the normal rear speaker output of the head unit into RCA.
One of these fellas would do the trick..

How will that work? I mean the ground wire. Do I have to hook it together with the ground wire on the radio head unit and the harness? They both have ground wires so I wrapped it together but if I buy that do I have to hook that up to my 2 ground wires or will it cause something weird? One question does any car store carry it?

It’s a Toyota, hooking up ground wires to the factory ones are fine.
If your playing with Nissan’s for instance, you need to attach the radio ground to the chassis or you will blow fuses or it won’t work at all.
Yes hook the ground to the same place as the head unit ground..
Car radio installation stores or some good electronics places should carry them.

Ah, yes I seen something like that at pep boys but I will try a rca adapter from them. It’s a 2 female to male adapter for rca and it’s universal and made for car audio or so it said on the box. Gonna install it tomorrow and see if I can get sound from the rear speakers.
From what I can make out, the adapter will give you sound to rear speakers but will be the same as sound going to front speakers
So you won’t be able to fade from front to rear using the fader on the head unit..
Anyhow give it a whirl!
If you are in the US, then this would be closer to home…

Ah yes you are right sir. I am getting little sound from my rear speakers but no more buzzing sound when I accelerate or idle the car and yes the fader does not work. From what you are saying with that kind of adapter

I will have to hook up my 2 front left and right audio to the stereo unit and hook up the rear left and right audio to that adapter?

Yes, that’s it..
Yes, that's it..
Wait so what I said was right? I hook up the two left and right rca to the stereo unit and the two rear right and left to the adapter like the one I saw on ebay?

Is this the same thing your talking about?
Your making this far more difficult than it needs to be…
First you need to understand the simple basic fundamental difference between high level (speaker level) vs. low level (line level) connections. {RCA connectors are line level}
In simple terms; all you have to keep in mind is your output and input connections have to match. If they don’t match; then you need to incorporate a convertor in order to make them match.
If your not using an external amplifier in this system; (which is what the head unit’s RCA outputs and convertors are for)
you can hook up the speakers direct with the bare wire harness thus using the head unit’s internal amplifier and disregard the RCA connectors altogether. http://knowledge.sonicelectronix.com/view/printview-135.html
