Android Chrome

I’m not sure if I’m just missing something here.
But I can’t see any setting to turn images of in Chrome on my phone.
My bandwidth is limited and in other browsers I turn them off.
I don’t need them eating away what bandwidth I have.
But I need to check my emails and some other sites with Chrome.
So am I missing something here, or is Google that thoughtless to even have that option?
They have what they call a data saver option, where all your browsing goes through their servers first and it’s reduced.
But that doesn’t work with https sites.
Or do they mean when say server can’t see them, that they can’t spy on you.
I took it that they don’t work and pages from https won’t be reduced.
Any help in how turn images of appreciated.
Apart from being a waste seeing images I don’t need to, it’s got to be slowing browsing down too.
Is this of any help
Open your web browser app.
Tap on the Menu key > Settings > Bandwidth Management.
Uncheck "Load images"
Sorry but mine doesn’t have that setting.
EDIT :
I’ve turned data saver on.
I’d read on Google that it would be able to turn images off.
I tried it, images still loaded.
I looked at what they were saying about saved bandwidth.
Told me page was originally 0.98MB and now was 148kBs.
I’ll check it against what my phone says later to see if accurate.
