A Question For DJ’s

October 18th, 2013

Hi All
Im interesting in djing & becoming a remix artist so i wanted to know…
-what do i need?
-what software do you use?
thanks all

Answer #1
Umm i used to be into this.
No software. just a set of good turntables/carts a mixer a amp some recording equipment and a boss set of speakers with a large record collection.
Answer #2
Before you go out and drop a few thousand on a decent set of mixing equipment, have a play around with software suites like Virtual DJ and Reason/Cubase and even Audacity. Get a feel for how mixing works at the most fundamental level (Virtual DJ) and learn the basics of music sequencing and editing. I used to throw together proper mixtapes using just Audacity and fiddle with remixing in Reason but never felt I could justify dropping the money on good DJ hardware.
JJ is right though, if you want to get into DJing seriously, you should look into a good set of CDJs (more versatile and interface better with software than mid-range vinyl turntables), mixer, amp etc.
Answer #3
Fruity Loops
Answer #4
Reason is more advanced, And a much bigger download, Look into fruity loops and reason, as far as i know there up there. I prefer reason, more configuration options. sound cards etc.
