can someone help me with my math question

961-451+111=621
so 621. i think. but i have not done math in a while so could be wrong.

EDIT: You should tell if it’s this (-41/7)*77 OR this -41/(7*77)

Just so you can do the other problems, it’s just order of operations.
First calculate whatever is inside parenthesis, then exponents, then multiplication/division, and then addition/subtraction.
Correct me if I’m wrong (been years since I’ve done that).
And you should invest in a graphing calculator like the TI-84 (let’s you see what you type and you’ll end up doing graphing later), and it’ll do it for you.

Thats correct. However if there is an exponent outside parenthesis, you have to do that first if I’m not mistaken.

I think that’s only with polynomials though because
(5+5)^2 would just simplify to 10^2.
while
(2x+2y)^2 would come out to (2x+2y)(2x+2y)
Now I remember why I hated math so much lol.

Correct. I remember in 6th grade, everyone in my math class had to walk into class reciting this simple sentence to remember the order of operations:
Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally.
P – Parenthesis
E – Exponent
M – Multiplication
D – Division
A – Addition
S – Subtraction
