When i start up my PC
August 5th, 2016
I have never actually used “Windows XP Home Edition”, when given then choice,
so does any1 kno how i can just make it load “Windows XP Professional Edition” automatically?
You installed 2 OS’s and did not format thats why you have that, Xp pro must be tiny xp, Xp home is what you must of had when you already had the comp, Im sure you can change it so you wont see it, But i ent too sure because i ent done it, Wait for someone else to reply
Good luck
EDIT: Just format again mate with the OS you want, Then you wont have that problem
Thanks..
But if i format will i not lose all of my stuff?
Thanks..

Unfortuneatly you will lose everythink but if you have 2 hardrives back up the stuff you want to save on D drive for example and format C drive, Or just back up the stuff you want too keep on a DVD or external hardive or even memory stick
Good luck
Thanks for the help Headucation, much appreciated, but i’ll just keep it the way it is and see if theres an easier way
Hi mate. No need to do that at all. You need to edit boot.ini and remove the OS you don’t want
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/289022
All information there. Good luck.

I no there was a way to do it but i was not sure
that what i get in the boot.ini and i want to take away the 2nd one.
step by step instructions please ?
Cause the ones from MS dont help
Just select
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition” /noexecute=optin
/fastdetect
And delete it. Then save the document.
You would then need a partition program to add the space that Home Edition took up to the XP Pro. partition.
II CONQUEST II 100% correct and you use notepad to open and edit boot.ini which will be in the root of drive C:
