Help! plz. partition fail

Hi wbb users. I have a huge problem and I need your help. Today earlier I was on my desktop computer and I was trying to create a new partition. It has a 250gb that already had one partition of 70gb.
What i did was to install paragon partition magic 9.0 and made a new partition. During this, it asked me to rebbot the pc so it could continue. I left it for 3 hrs and it didnt manage to create the partition and suddently the light went down The problem is that now i cant boot windows it cuz it says ” plz insert a recovery cd … ” . I’ve tried hiren’s boot cd, but i didnt manage to do anything. The only thing i was able to see was that the new partition and the old partition are merged and not formatted. Plz help me recovery my files. They were really important.
Any tip, suggestion will be apreciated. Ty for your help

If you have an external drive or somewhere to backup your files..Boot with Hiren’s BootCD..Then select the Mini Windows XP from the menu…Use GetDataBack to recover your files…

Ok, i did it and i was able to recover some files but what can i to make windows work normally? full formation and re-install??

Try a chkdsk.
Get to CMD and type chkdsk /r
It will take a while. But it should fix your problem.
It happened to me when my PSU failed during a partition. Info on Check Disk if you want to read.

I cant install anything. Firefox bookmarks are stored where in harddrive? anyone knows?
