Speakers, No Sound

I’ve just recently reinstalled windows xp pro black edition and i dont get any sound coming from my speakers
I’ve done the following
1. Installed realtek audio drivers
2. Installed motherboard chipset drivers
3. Plugged in and plugged out several times
i know my speakers arent faulty because my other comp has same OS and it doesnt work there either

Do you have a legal copy of the OS or is it a download? If it is a download it might be it is incomplete and doesn’t support certain speakers.
What is the setup? How much speakers do you have? 5.1 Surround, just 2 and a subwoofer, or just 2)?

It is legal, 2 speakers

I presume they are linked together and you need to plug in one plug to make them both work? You tried inputting them into a computer with another OS, did it work there? Were the same Realtek drivers installed there?
