GTA 4 (Need Suggestions)

Guys,My Pc Configuration Is CORE 2 DUO 2.93 GHZ
NVIDIA 9500GT 1 GB
RAM- 3 GB
Still GTA 4 Runs Slow Why?
What Should i Do.

Have you run the Benchmark tool?
I have a similar spec pc, with 9800GT graphics, everything maxes out even at low/medium settings, it’s a nightmare!

I had a problem with GTA4 when I got the Razor1911 full rip release – That being it went game-crushingly slow.
Then I noticed you must run the LaunchGTAIV.exe file instead of GTAIV.exe. What this does however is remove the sound from cutscenes, but the bonus for me was that the game ran at a decent speed at medium quality (slightly worse at higher settings).
By the way, I am using a laptop with 4gb of ram and a 3.33mhz dual core processor, so your mileage may vary
And if that doesn’t work (or you’re not using the same release as me) i’d blame your graphics card.

A Quad Core processor is required to play GTA IV smoothly, otherwise lower your graphic settings to low-medium..

since GTA IV is a very badly ported game it will use a lot of the CPU’s power. c2d cant handle games like GTAIV. as mentioned above, quad-core is a minimum if u want to play the game on decent graphics

GTA 4 worked fine on my Dual core.
there must be some other problem with his PC

I’ve had this very same problem, Specs:
3.6 GHZ
4GB RAM
580GB on HDD
Core i7 720
2.2GB Video RAM
I used to run it on the very lowest settings, but I still had lag.
I THEN patched it with Razor1911’s patch for 1.0.7.0, I can now run it on highest resolution and all the settings as high as they can go.
So the best way is to PATCH it.

GTA 4 is laggy as hell! idk why all other games run fines, but not gta 4!
