Requesting Help – My ISP blocks Rapidshare.

January 30th, 2020

After I have spent about 5-10 minutes downloading things, rapidshare stops working on those files. Also, the speed field on Flashget goes to ???? for the value.
My Internet connection is still active though and I can still do other things such as browsing etc. This shows that the ISP is blocking rapidshare every so often. It takes a few hours for it to work again.
Is there anything I can do to get around this? Something to keep resetting the connection to stop rapidshare being blocking it every so often??
I have found that when rapidshare stops working with the connection I can turn the modem off and on again to get it working again. I want to find a way of automating this somehow.
I live in England and I have a BT 8 Mbit Connection. I am a rapidshare premium user and I use Flashget with this.
Many thanks in advance.

There is a Thread about this on the forum some where. Have you tried reconnecting, clearing cookies and everything else. If you are on BT that might explain why(there is a thread how to fix) or do you have a premium account? If you have selected a specific Mirror server may i suggest changing to another one, sometimes ISP’s don’t work well with some

I’ve tried searching BT and other things but I haven’t found a thread that helps. Recconecting does solve the problem but I don’t like turning off my modem every 10 minutes because others use the connection and it’s inconvenient. Basically, rapidshare works for bursts of 10 minutes at very good speeds but than stops whereas I would be happier if it worked at average speeds for a lot longer so I can leave it to ‘do it’s thing’…
Anyway, thanks for your tip about the cookies, I am going to try and delete them and other ‘private data’ stuff more often. Hopefully, that will help.
Edit:- I have found the thread you were talking about

I will lock this now.
