What’s the budget?

Budget would be from 700-1.2$.
I am hoping it would be better than buying those 1k+ gaming laptops but the build I mention is about 1000
Is that USD? buying inside USA right?
Buying pre built machines will always be more expensive.
You will be best buying all the parts from newegg or the like.

Yes
Please understand that the build I mention is not from a laptop or a desktop.
The entire custom rig goes for about 1k
Well, Newegg just had a sale, and is sold out of a lot of these parts, but get something along these lines:
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=21991027
And if its in your budget, throw in an SSD:

Grab the i5 2500k model not the non k one.
Grab a 1600mhz 8gb ddr3 kit 1.5v
Hard drive prices are silly for now because of the floods they are triple price so if you have one you can use as storage n grab a ssd for boot drive you would be better waiting for hdd prices to get back to normal next year.
EDIT: Above beat me too it

The wishlist, would you say it a little better than what the build I picked for my custom rig?
a total of $973 is reasonable for me.

If you get the SSD, yea, the build is almost the same, just a little better.
You get a SSD and HDD, 2GB video card, 1600 MHz RAM, and better PSU.
Although the PSU you have chosen is fine, the on in my build allows for later expansion into SLI.
Well this would be my first complete build with a little help from my Dad and a friend who is also willing to help me.
I might go with your build afterall on the wishlist.
The problem is that 3 of the item are sold out.
