Awful graphics after installing windows 7 [SOLVED]
January 27th, 2020
now, when I playing a game ( f.e GTA San Andreas) the graphics are awful, buildings that aren’t visible, no road surface at all ( you’re just driving on nothing etc..) now before windows 7 I had XP, with much better graphics ( everything was there…)
Someone knows what to do about it ?
Greetings ( and a merry x-mas to ye all ! )
Update your graphics card driver.
you have to update your video card drivers.
Did the upgrade, twice, no changes yet…
still thanks !
Does it only happen with GTA?
No, also NFS most wanted ( and maybe others I didn’t try yet ) have the problem :s
I installed Win 7 a few months ago too, but I’ve not had any problems with anything…
I wonder, when you say “did the upgrade twice” do you mean installed your graphics driver twice ?
I installed win7 with no problems, I never needed any driver disks for anything: motherboard, sound graphix or Hids.
But later when I did an update:
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update
One of the options was for the new drivers for my card, so I clicked okay, and bobs your uncle ?
I just thought maybe you should try through the Control Panel (if you have not already) after all its been some time
you may have gone back to XP (I’m finding Win7 to be better than XP).
Just trying to Help!

Yes, I’ve uninstalled the driver and re-installed it but as I said before, the problem keeps existing… Trying it through the control panel (update) as we speak + had to re-install all my drivers + windows 7 still rocks !!
And, I really appreciate you’re help !
well, driving on nothing, buildings not appearing in GTA was ALWAYS a problem with that game, even on consoles.. what happens in other games?
it could be that windows 7 requires a better videocard and everything than windows XP does. so you might need to invest in a new video card

Could be, but as I told, the problem didn’t arise before upgrading to win. 7…
+ In NFS – most wanted, the graphics just su.ck big time…
Greets

Could this be done according to these specs. ?

you really need to explain your issue… saying “the graphics suck big time” doesn’t give us a clue to what you mean at all.
do you get artifacts? bad fps?
lmao.. upgrading an OS does not require a better video card, completely ignore that post.

I’m sorry, ehm, what do you mean by artifacts ? + no bad fps…
The quality of the shadows is very low and the reflection of the car isn’t great either ( and yes, already set those on max. )
+ I’ll upload a screenshot of GTA soon where you can see how big the problem is ( and help diagnosing it… )
^^ lol, thanks
I think I’ve found out why this problem exists,
very simple: windows 7 uses so much of my RAM / CPU, that there simply isn’t sufficient RAM/CPU available to load the buildings, road surfaces, etc.. in time. As with xp, which is much lighter than 7, those buildings etc… could be loaded more rapidly.
Am I right
well, in order to diagnose that, post your specs.
Promise not to laugh
here you go :

yeah, definitely… you were perfectly fine on XP. windows 7 alone requires 1gbs of ram.
and i don’t know what Intel Celeron, 2448 MHz is into a translation of GHZ… but i’m assuming not good enough to run windows 7, and a game at the same time.. lol.
Found the solution:
In order to install windows 7, I had to free up some space. So, I moved those games to our server ( wich has 2 TB HD in it ). After installing win 7, I just kept playing these games even though they were located on the servers’ HD ( slow network connection, slow game, etc…) wich explains the above mentioned problems…
Putting them back on my computer’s HD, solved the problem
Thank ye all for you’re support ! + A happy 2010 ! ;D
Do you feel silly.
