Answer #2
could be it overheated, did you check the temperatures of the card? You can do so with gpu-z
Answer #3
if it is overheated how would u solve that
Answer #4
if it is overheated how would u solve that
lol easy, firstly try clear out some dust, remenants etc. If thats a no go, try reseat the video card cooler, increase the fan speed with Rivatuner (if it has a fan) or add an outtake fan next tot the card. Then you can change the case to a larger better cooled one or change the cooling device on the card if an after-market one is available
Answer #5
umm but he told me he only had the comp on for a few minutes.
it wasnt on for long so how can it get overheated that quick.
Answer #6
it doesn’t take long for a vid card to overheat.
Answer #7
its possible if the gpu cooler isnt properly mounted. Leave the side panel open and get a desktop fan to blow into it.
Answer #8
but shouldnt it also happen for his older one
Answer #9
if its an older model, they generate less heat and therefore dont overheat as fast. Its like a cpu, pentium 3’s use smaller coolers but Quad cores use larger ones
Answer #10
ok he just rang me up
he says that he system restored it and that when he tries to install the card the screen goes blank again and his cpu is still on.
when he tries turning it back on again it goes blank again before the loading of the welcome screen
so he cant come online and is asking to ask u guys for help
plz help
