.avi cutter?

Which is the best .avi cutter. I wanna get a clip of part of the hitcher film, but what is best for grabbing part of a film?

I’ve found virtulaldub confusing with all its many features, so….
allok mpeg4 converter – lets you cut between 2 timecodes.
or divx author from divx dot com – if you’ve a number of cuts to make.
