[SOLVED]Wii softmod help

January 23rd, 2020

Hey guys, had a bit of a problem here
so far here on this site i have been downloading Wii games and have been able to play the NTSC at full percent success(this is all via USB drive with program USB loader). my problem here is that when i load any PAL games (Need for speed for ex) it comes out all black and white which is not a good thing as i sort of rely on color for that game. So my question was, is there a way to make my wii display color on the pal games, or would i b my tv that is the problem, or do i have to force play PAL or what?
thanks

Which usbloader are you using? Is there an option that says ‘Force NTSC’? If so then turn it on.

As far as I know a console playing a game that isn’t its native region (an NTSC Wii playing PAL games or vice versa) will cause the screen to shake, making it impossible to see. Since this isn’t the case, it’s not an issue with your console…Your TV isn’t capable of playing its opposite region. Is it a newer LCD or is it CRT?

i am using the one from this tutorial
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-play-Wii-backups-on-a-usb-stick-with-no-mod/
and ill try the force ntsc option, theres a PAL one so there will be a NTSC one too
and i got an old tv, panasonic, easily 4-6 years old not quite sure

That’s more than likely your problem.
The mod probably makes the console region free, so it will play PAL games, however since your TV is NTSC, it won’t play it in color.

I’m using Waninkoko’s, 1.5 SD/USB Loader.
It has force video standard option.

thanks, the force setting worked, solved!
