Fallout 3 – Freeze on level up

This happened the first time when i was doing the android quest. After finishing it, and getting the 300xp, i got a level(13), and after 20-30 seconds(on the screen of skiils) the colors got messed up, and the pc froze. Not the game the pc, and i have to press reset. This happenes as it seems everytime i get a level now. If i don’t get a level, it never happens… I installed patch 1.5 after this problem but to no avail.(prior to 1.5 i had version 1.0 – unpatched) I have no mods installed either. This is what happens to the colours

I also tried to select the skills and perks as fast as possible, and it didn’t froze when i was done. So it must be a level-up screen problem…
Any ideas?

Fallout 3 has a LOT of bugs, a list of bugs can be found here

There are a few things you can try, one of them is to load up a different save to the one you are using (An older save if you have one)

installing the additional bonus packages might prevent freezing
make sure you use the correct crack after patching!

i have the original game, so i don’t need any crack…
I’ll try to find an older save game that doesn’t have this issue, but i have already loaded about 3-4 earilier saves with this problem…
edit : additional bonus packages = DLC?
edit: this bug was worse than i thought… It doesn’t only happen on level up screens, but on any dialog-like screen, like when you buy things etc..(except pipboy)… I’ll start a new game to see if its a save issue or sth else…

I tried playing in windowed mode, to see if the colors mess up only for the game, and it seems they messup for the windows too… Can the game cause the vga driver to crash?
