hmmm u gotta remember if your burning a disc as a dvd and not a data. . . . it will need more space/size since there isnt unlimited time on a dvd. like on a normal cd 700mb. its either that or like a 1h30m (or something like that) so even if the file was 300mb. it would still need the 1h.30mb on the disc. and that would result in a full disc. So dont know if thats what your tring to do? Otherwise i missunderstood the post and am sorry

VOB files are used on normal DVDs and use MPEG2 compression which gives a lot less compression than AVIs which normally use some form of MPEG4 like divx, xvid etc..
It you try compressing them very much the quality will be bad…
Best bet is to get a DVD player that will handle DivX… this should play the AVI files as they are…
You can also use ConvertX toDVD to convert then to DVD standard(that uses VOB etc files) but it takes more space , so you need a full DVD to fit one or maybe 2 movies on it..

i just whant to know, if there is a program that can make a .vob file weightless, i dont care the quality, the video quality is already bad xD
is just that, i want to put all season 5 of House in DVDs to see in my DVD player, but i can only put like 3 or 4 in one DVD, so its shame, and i want to put more, but i cant because it weights a lot! D:

Dvd Shrink will do it but your not going to put a whole season on one disk ,it’s freeware:

Another good one to try would be DVDFab Platinum 6..if you are starting out with a DVD or ConvertXtoDVD if you are starting with .avi files…
Answer #6
Use a dual layer DVD/R/DL they are double the disk size.
