[solved] bioshock problems – is my system not good enough?

August 2nd, 2016

i downloaded a full iso to try on my new system. installs fine, runs fine. but no matter what settings i use, even the absolute lowest, things get super choppy when i move around. i can set it to the highest everything and it looks perfect, i can look around all i want and there’s no frameskip with the fire and smoke and reflections, but as soon as i try to move, everything goes to hell.
i thought i exceeded the minimum requirements. hmm.
even tried the pixel shader 2.0 patch but it didn’t help
anyway here’s what i got:
core 2 duo e7200, 2.53 ghz
2x ddr2 pc5300 1gb, 667 mhz
excelstor sata-II 250gb 7200rpm, 8mb cache
geforce 9500gt, 512mb

it was my gorram keyboard! in a last-ditch effort i switched my fancy USB keyboard out for an old PS2 i found in a closet, and now i’m running the game at max res with everything set to high. go figure…
