Logitech M-BZ105A Mouse Not Working On Windows 7.

August 21st, 2013

OK, so the mouse I have is a Logitech, Model number: M-BZ105A and it doesn’t seem to work on Windows 7. The mouse works when I use it on a computer running Windows XP, but I have tried three different computers running Windows 7 yet no luck on getting it to work on any of them. The errors I receive when plugging in the mouse, or when Windows is trying to install the drivers for the mouse are as follows: “USB Device Not Recognized.” & “Device driver software was not successfully installed.” All help is appreciated and thanks for taking the time to help me out.

Install the win 7 software first. then it should work

select the os and download

Forgot to mention that I’ve tried this already, but sadly it didn’t seem to fix the issue. Still no luck on getting the mouse to work.

I was looking this over. the picture looks like it is a wired mouse
check the driver.
start in the search box type device manager / mice and other pointing devices open the properties box and go to drivers tab.
if it says provided by microsoft it is a generic driver. close the properties box
do not plug in the mouse
r click on the mice and uninstall
if microsoft device deteced comes up cancel or ignore it
now use the software to install the mouse drivers
then plug in the mouse
Usually the generic ones work just fine. this may not be your case. removing all the drivers should work
Answer #4
It is a wired USB mouse, and I’m on a desktop computer, so I’m not sure how to go about doing this.
Answer #5
driver check first i believe the mouse should be plugged in to do this
click start in the search box type device manager
open device manager and then mice and other pointing devices
dbl click to open the properties box and go to drivers tab.
if it says provided by microsoft it is a generic driver. close the properties box
now remove the mouse and right click on the mice and uninstall
the drivers should be removed now
you may see a popup for the touchpad drivers let them install
now click start then control panel select programs
select the logitek mouse drivers and uninstall them
reboot the laptop
install the logitek win 7 drivers you downloaded and plug in the mouse after the install completes
with any luck the mouse should discovered and be working
Answer #6
I think you misunderstood, but I am not using a laptop so no touchpad is available for me to use after I uninstall the mouse drivers. I tried uninstalling them anyways, but then I had to restart the computer before any mouse would work.
Answer #7
if the mouse won’t work thats ok use the keyboard
use the windows key (this will open start button) and the tab / arrow keys to get reboot the pc and hit enter. you could practice it before you uninstall the mouse drivers. if you can get to the reboot using the keyboard you are ok
Answer #8
So, I uninstall all the mouse drivers, the only one under Mice and other pointing devices is HID-complaint mouse, with the non-working mouse not plugged in, then reboot and plug it in?
Answer #9
reboot install the drivers and plug it in
Answer #10
The downloads on the Logitech website is only the SetPoint software. I’ve tried it before, but it didn’t help with getting the mouse to work.
Answer #11
ok then just try to plug it in
Answer #12
i was hoping logitek was providing a win 7 driver fingers crossed on this one
update:
they offer a full installer package (17MB) for 32/64 bit systems
it seems the softwae downloads the drivers for you
http://www.logitech.com/en-roeu/428/191?softwareid=671&osid=14&section=downloads
paste:
Tip: If you’re having installation difficulties with the Smart Installer package, try downloading the Full installer package (32-bit / 64-bit). This usually does the trick. Do I need the 32 or 64-bit version?
Installation notes
SetPoint settings will not be preserved when upgrading from SetPoint 4.x.
If you don’t see a picture of the device you’re configuring in this latest version of SetPoint, check that you are connected to the internet. The device image should download automatically in the background.
If your mouse or keyboard is connected to the PS/2 port and you want it to be recognized by SetPoint, you’ll need to activate the PS/2 driver. To do this:
Open SetPoint and select the Tools tab.
Click the “Install PS/2 Driver” button (if the button is unavailable, a PS/2 driver is already installed).

I tried calling Logitech support today, but we were still unable to resolve the issue. Logitech was nice enough to send me a replacement mouse though, so it’s all good. Thanks for trying to help superslacker, I really appreciate it and hope you have a great holiday.
