gmail from google has a lot of integrated apps and google +
hotmail is integrated with windows os and has skydrive
it is just a matter of preference
the security is good on all of them

I use mainly gmail with occasional hotmail or whatever it’s called ATM. Yahoo is a PIN so I don’t use it because it doesn’t work well with my browser email checking.
