Is this PSU good?

August 19th, 2013

I just got this PSU from the store, and i don’t know if it fits my PC..
I got a Pentium D, 512MB RAM, 160GB HDD.
Here is what the PSU Says:
iNTEX Power Supply Action 1T-20F1BC-A
400Watt;20+4pin; 2 SATA; 2 HDD; 1FDD; 1FAN
AC Input: 220V 50-60Hz 5A

It sounds like that would be suitable for your requirements…assuming you are not running some power hungry video card!

na, my graphics card is Intel Intergrated 256MB!

It’d work,But it’s a crappy generic PSU and if you value your PC,Get rid of it and get a quality one (Antec,OCZ,Corsair)
It can easily fry your PC someday.
Answer #4
Yes, but he probably don’t want to spend more than the old PCs worth..
Answer #5
It will likely be safe as houses powering that rig unless you have dodgy power in your house prone to big fluctuations..
Only really lacking in efficiency, so it will draw a bit more power to run the PC, costing you more in electric.
Again though it wont be a big amount.
You should be fine.

Quality PSUs are not that expensive,Plus he could use it later on when he’ll upgrade too so it’s
not just another investment in an old PC,Set that aside,It’s beyond me why anyone would wanna
risk his PC being fried regardless to how old it is,It’d be a major headache,Most people are careless
about backups,Imagine how pissed off he’d be if his HDD will get fried,Also,How would you feel
if you would’ve wake up one morning,Turn your PC on,And then it’d go bam with everything fried? It’d be a big
hassle to buy a new one in a hurry or replace under warranty (which expired long time ago in this case),And what
if you don’t have the money to afford it?

Thanks everyone, even tho you didn’t recommend this PSU to me, i installed it and seems to be working fine, thank you.

I can’t find any information on it’s OEM. It looks like absolute trash though and I’d be surprised if it could deliver even 200W within ATX specifications.
