how to test my wifi security?
pls help firends me

Answer #1
That’s a hard one:P
Get another pc or phone, and try to enter the network see if it works.
If you have like a WPA2 AES/TKIP with a 64 char password and Mac filtering then you’re really save.
What settings did you use?

As long as you use WPA2/WPA with a decent password you got nothing to worry about.
Of course that by decent I mean one that’s not easy to guess or obtain,Using your Phone number/SSN/DOB/Pet name/GF name
is highly unrecommended. No need to use Mac filtering in addition.

i be using wpa2 personal with aes and mac filtering
pass is 23 characters with also punctuations and numbers, no dictionary words and wifi is hidden too
i still wanna know how to test it
is there some linux distro for this like backtrack

Sounds good to me,Except for two things:
Mac filtering – Useless,Easy enough to bypass and not needed anyhow as you got encryption enabled,Which means only those
who have the password can connect,Also,If you have relatives coming over often (and these sometimes bring their laptops),It’d make setup difficult (as you’ll have to determine their mac address & manually add it to the router)
Turning off SSID – Makes setup a hassle (after reinstalling the OS or buying a new PC,Smartphone or tablet),It’s best enabled IMO.
i still wanna know how to test it
WPA2 is currently resistant to bruteforcing,It can only be cracked using a dictionary attack and since you used a solid password
you got nothing to worry about,No need to be overly concerned about this.
