Hi guys i want to switch from e7400 to q8300 so is that good for gaming
Answer #1
Newer, Faster, More Cores > Older, Slower, Less Cores.
You want the core 2 quad (q8400) and not the core 2 duo (e7400). If your upgrading an existing system, make sure your mother board supports the quad core processors.
Answer #2
Do a search for benchmarks for both those CPUs and you’ll have your answer
Answer #3
Newer, Faster, More Cores > Older, Slower, Less Cores.
great reasoning…
You can’t even go by “faster > slower” these days…
Answer #4
I wouldn’t do that if I were you.. Atleast not the Q8300!
Core 2 Quads come handy when it comes to running programs, de/coding videos, rendering etceteral.
Core 2 Duos are better for gaming… I’m not saying that it wont be better, of course it will be but you will se tiny difference..
if I were you, I’d save money for new motherboard/ram/CPU because 775 is too old.
Anyways here you can see the differences;

I’ve had E7400 in past and it was quite good, although sold it later and got Q8400 and later Q9400, Q9450..
