get “Hard Disk Sentinel” and check the drive’s health
also get “recuva” and see if that sees the files
also try booting to “save mode” and/or a boot disk (Hiren’s BootCD is a good one) and see if you can read the file that way
I dont no if its coincidence or not but after i install the file my hard disk got all the files to 0 bytes.
hard to think the that it would only attack one drive but it’s possible
you scan for viruses and malware (malwarebytes is good for that)
I try Recuva, and the files are the right bytes in program but when i try to recover, the file i recover comes with 0 bytes.
See the image
I will try the hard disk sentinel. Thank you.

It affect some files of the windows drive, i detect some programs don’t open and i turn off my computer.
The hard disk sentinel says disk health: 60 %
The malwarebytes dont detect any malware.
The hard disk sentinel says disk health: 60 %
there’s your problem
sounds like the portion of the hard disk that keeps the file locations (MFT – Master File Table) might be damaged try running windows check disk to restore it
rt click the drive, properties/tools/check disk (tic Fix & Scan)
might take a while
ID the drive brand/model in hard disk sentinel and get the diagnostic utility from the drive’s website and check the drive with that to be sure
then see if you can get warranty on it
it can’t be repaired
Use EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard 5.8.0 WinPE Boot Disk to recover your files outside of Windows. Better chance of saving them uncorrupted.

There are 17 bad sectors on the disk surface. The contents of these sectors were moved to the spare area.
Based on the number of remapping operations, the health of the disk was decreased in different steps.
At this point, warranty replacement of the disk is not yet possible, only if the health drops further.
It is recommended to examine the log of the disk regularly. All new problems found will be logged there.
Use EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard 5.8.0 WinPE Boot Disk to recover your files outside of Windows. Better chance of saving them uncorrupted.
I will try that. Thanks.
get the diagnostic utility from the drive’s website

Is the data important to you? Do you have backup?
If you care about the data, Then first thing you should do is to STOP USING THE SPECIFIC COMPUTER!
Data is only recoverable til overwritten, And your not doing yourself a favor by continuing to use it! You should use another computer til this is sorted! Otherwise, You might be hurting your chances of successful recovery! (If it’s even manually doable) Now that we got all that clear, Here’s what I suggest you do (You should download/burn/install the below using another PC)
1. Give Fuduntu a go (A Linux Live CD) That way you’ll be able to determine whether the files are indeed corrupt, Or if it’s just a Virus making it appear they are!
http://packages.fuduntu.org/cgi-bin/getiso?name=Fuduntu-2013.1-i686-LiveDVD.iso
Either burn it to a disc using Imgburn (with the write image file to disc option) or put it on a flash drive with this app:
http://www.linuxliveusb.com
Basically, It’s a full blown OS that runs as-is, Just try to play those Videos and see what happens.
2. If you have determined the files are indeed corrupt, Then I agree with
Here’s a direct link to DRW WinPE:
http://home.comcast.net/~rotten245/trial/fo-r580.zip
DRW has an option to ignore bad sectors, Make sure you enable it!
And also, You must have another Partition/HDD (with enough free space) to recover the data to!
3. If nothing goes, Then you have 2 options left:
A) Forget about it.
B) Go with professional data recovery (Expensive!)
a few other members had the SAME thing happen, it’s a virus, probably modifying the MFT. check the link for comments. or it could be a hoax, the actual files may still be there. try getting rid of the virus first!. that post is gone! so it must have been confirmed having a VIRUS in it!.

The video file don’t play. Open the program (VLC) but nothing happens.

The files in DRW appears with 0 bytes, i try to recover one but when i saw it on a pen it has 0 bytes.
I don’t recall I told you to run a SMART check with the disk utility, But it’s certainly useful information.
Anyways, It looks pretty bad overall. So basically, It all comes down to this:
A) Forget about it.
B) Go with professional data recovery (Expensive!)
Thanks for the help.
I will try the option B tomorrow, if isn’t very much expensive.

It is!
Expect $800 minimum! Unless your rich, This won’t be doable.
And just for the record as some ppl get confused, Computer stores & Data Recovery companies are certainly NOT one of the same!
you need to get rid of the INFECTION first!. then try this. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/fix-corrupted-windows-ntfs-filesystem-ubuntu/
why spend all that money on a file recovery service, when an infection caused this, and it may be possible to recover your files using software?. it’s worth a shot. btw, in the future, it’s good to wait for feedback on posts, to make sure no malware is attached to what you download.

I usually do, but that day I was distracted doing other things that do not even realize it.
Anyone know what it was that the OP downloaded?

Don’t work. I will format the volume. Thanks very much for the help.
I recover 250 GB. \o/
After i format the disk, i run the software RECUVA and i can recover 250GB from data i had lost.
The bad part is the files recovered are messed with diferent names.

Thanks again for the help.
