How exactly did you try to configure it? It’d help if you’ll make a video about it!
I suggest you use Hypercam for this task:

Also, What’s the full model of your laptop? (SP600 ain’t it, Or not all of it at least!)
And what’s the model of your TV? And are you sure you configured it to use
the correct input? For the record, Composite (RCA) video supports a max resolution of 720×480 (NTSC) or 720×576 (PAL), So maybe you haven’t set it low enough! Set that aside, If your laptop has an HDMI or a VGA output (And your TV has an input for it) then using one of those methods would be much better!

As I previously pointed out:
Composite (RCA) video supports a max resolution of 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL)
800×600 will not fly here! Try going into advanced>monitor and uncheck “hide modes that this monitor cannot display”
then it might let you pick a lower resolution. If not, Then there might be an option for it in the video driver settings. Look for anything TV/Composite related. But as I said before, If your laptop also have a VGA output (and your TV has an input for it) then I strongly recommend you use this method instead!

Not sure what was happening in that vid.
It seemed like it was working on desktop and then not afterwards?
I used to use my old vid card connected to a CRT TV and actually it worked OK with res set to 1024×768.
I guess the AMD vid card would do the final TV conversion to 576i.
Obviously not good for small graphics, but movies would be fine..
With my AMD card and Catalyst CC, I would set TV as separate monitor, rather than clone them, or otherwise the resolution on the monitor would decrease to match that of the TV..
Anyhow, I think that laptops have a certain combination of keys on the keyboard to control their displays..?

^^^ That won’t work your TV don’t support it!
You have the correct connections… A yellow RCA plug on your TV and a yellow RCA plug on your laptop…This carries the composite video..
Try a different cable in case that is faulty.
Try something like a DVD player in the front of your TV, to prove TV is OK.
There is a couple of links from here that may help….Good luck!
