So does that sound like a good system? I can get a DVD drive from an old computer so thats not an issue. Also will all of this work together and what sort of games would I be able to play? Thanks for your help!

Answer #1
With a 5750 dont expect anything excellent. can i possibly ask how much money you have to spend and location. im 100% sure somebody could probably make a better build more suited to your needs Wink
Answer #2
I’m in Ireland and have roughly 550 to spend
Answer #3
I personally stick to Intel stuff and Nvidia… I would reccomend you invest in getting a i7 processor and Motherboard chipset. But yeah your setup will be good for everything except apps that contain very high shading textures and Dx11 stuff.

Seriously not every1 can afford it. if you dont have much to say why bother saying it ?

So if I was to get that would I be able to run GTA IV and Black Ops? And if so what kind of quality?
Answer #6
Instead of the Athlon X4 get the Phenom II X2. They are around the same price. You get a L3 cache which is better for games. You’d be able to run Black Ops and GTA IV with probably medium high to high settings.
Your setup seems to be very good otherwise. I used a 5750 with a AMD Phenom II X2 processor on my friends build and he loves it.
Also I really feel 1TB of space is a little excessive but once again it depends on what you are doing. For gaming I would rather see a 500GB Western Digital Black hard drive which would have a slight performance edge on load times and such.

Point taken. I’ll keep my opinions to my self.

The power supply is a bit overkill.
That rig needs around 500W maybe less. Spend a bit more on the video card and get something like a GTX460 or a 6850.

Is the L3 cache worth sacrificing 2 cores though?

I believe it is as far as gaming goes. If you were doing video encoding and such it wouldn’t be.

If you were to play Black Ops for instance, 2 cores is a biggy.
