Nero BackitUp problem!

I recently bought a 1TB external hard drive and backed up all of my files from my drive onto it with Nero BackItUp.
I formatted my main drive and reinstalled windows but when I tried to open up the backup files (.nba files) BackItUp tells me “Backup information file could not be opened”.
Does anybody know how to fix this? I managed to open all the files in WinRAR but the folders are all over the place and the files have strange names so I wouldn’t be able to get it to work.
EDIT: I managed to open the file in BackItUp but now when I try to restore the folders it gives me an error message saying “Please makes sure you select a correct folder” I’ve tried with many different folders and none work!

Yeah, I have 2×500 gig USB powered external HDD’s & get the same problem just replacing a few folders. I haven’t heard of ANYONE being able to boot & repace all their files that way. Here’s what I do. I just drag & drop files from my external drives to my main Hard Drive. I knew that the NERO Backitup was almost worthless from the start. IF you had just dragged your files to your exterior drive, all you would have to do is drag entire folders (along with all the sub-folders) back to your main Hard Drive.
