Installing fresh windows 8.1 64bit

February 1st, 2020

These are what I am planning to do to install fresh windows 8.1.
1. Make a bootable iso of windows 8.1 64bit installer using another pc and load the bootable on to my new hdd.
2. install the new hdd into a new system that has no hdd.
3. After going to bios to setup to boot from new hdd, Is this bootable going to run if I will boot the new pc?
4. If the answer to 3 is no, then I guess I have run to the nearest store, buy a dual layer dvd and burn the iso into it hehehehe.
5. When installing 8.1, will I get an option to partition the hard drive? 6. If answer to 5 is no, Is it better to partition it before putting any data in it?
7. If the answer to 3 is yes, can I put the bootable in any partition of the new hdd and still be able to boot?
Please advise.

1. yes..Visit Microsoft website and download the USB-DVD-Download-Tool-Installer.
2. Depends how the hardware differ..Especially the chipset..Might or might not work..
3. Yes
4. USB is the best option even if you have a DVD Burner..
5. No..You get the option to format but not to partition..Use a partition software > Acronis Disk Director Suite.
6. That’s your choice.
7. No..It have to be in the Primary/Active partition..

I would check the file you have. The largest W8.1 installer from Microsoft is 3930MB which will easily fit on a DVD SL. Or make a bootable flash drive. And I think has all your other questions covered.
Answer #3
Yes it is always advisable to install an untouched ISO of the windows you want..
Download an ISO and install it with the USB-DVD-Download-Tool-Installer. (or similar).
I dug up some Windows 8.1 here if you need..

As pointed out, they are all under 4GB

Has nobody advised you against the setting of that motion of going to win8? Every person i asked told me “Don’t do it, you’ll regret it” “You’ll use more RAM” “UI is G-a-why” I’m just curious.
