Streaming to my tv, what would this setup need?

August 7th, 2016

Just wondering how I could stream videos I pay using my media player on my pc to my tv. Now right now I just have a HDMI cable running from my pc to the tv in the bedroom, but I want to now stream it to my tv in the living room. What are my options? I know some are…
Use a laptop->hmdi->tv in my living room
Connect an external HD to the tv in the living room
BTW, I need to figure out what type of tv I need for my living room.

google chromecast maybe useful for you

Most new TVs will play just about anything you throw at them via USB.
So check specs for mkv,mp4,h264,avc,aac,ac3,mp3,avi, etc.
If you buy TV from a shop, take a stick with some movie samples with you to try out

I use a Roku3 on the tv with Plex on my PC. While I have it wired with cat5, it does work wireless also.

A Nexus player is very good for streaming

Good option is install plex media server or XBMC on your pc which is easy to manage movies
Try Plex if you want to stream all over home (Even through internet with user management) with many user.
Try XBMC if you want to stream only from your to TV single user.
Buy some media remote http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xmedia+remote+pc&_nkw=media+remote+pc&_sacat=0
Sit back and enjoy movie.
Or cheaper Buy a raspberry pi and install rasplex(Plex) or open elec (XMBC) and stream 1080p smoothly
