this may help
thanks for a bit more details, but i guess there is no solution out there
What do you mean no solution? You can extract the private key from the keyfile and decrypt. Are you infected with cryptowall or what, there are tons of solutions all over google.
Without the public key, you have little chance of decrypting anything.
@Jack
Can you provide me some links for help?
Yes, some of my clients keep getting infected with cryptowall 2.0
thanks
Is that also called “Bitcrypt trojan”……
As I know there is no known solution if you get infected with version 2.0
If it is version 1 then you can extract the key, but if version 2, then you or your clients are not so lucky at all.
its a ransomware.
dumb clients. they tell me they got a mail saying they have won a million dollars and entry fees for that is 500$/€ . and i am like *deep sigh* *face palm*
Though I side with you for their stupidity, I have no evidence of your intelligence.
If you know your clients are going to be stupid, and you should know, then it falls to you to be the Sheppard.
I don’t know if it’s possible to protect Internet Explorer from anything as the program is absolute garbage and should be uninstalled by default and your clients ordered to you anything else
but musings aside, you could install Malwarebytes’ Anti-Exploit.
The free version provides good browser isolation, and the premium might cover email clients too; if not you could always request it.
A free antivirus set up to scan all incoming email and automatically delete emails without client consent is a given; you are the sheppard.
If they uninstall any of these, then you can blame them.
I install both MB anti-exploit premium and Cryptoprevent. But if they disable it then things are not in my ballpark.
